Playing Golf In The Wind

I see it very often with many golfers that playing golf in the wind as tough!! But don’t let that be the case and use it as your friend…

When playing with a side wind across a hole either from right-to-left or left-to-right don’t try and play against it use that side wind to help shape your shot into the green, for example it your looking at the hole and you agree with yourself that the wind is coming from right-to-left then just aim as far right as you feel needed for that wind to help shape your ball/shot into the flag, this will result in more greens hit which means more PARS or even BIRDIE’S….

Now when you find yourself in a situation when playing directly into the wind then just take a extra club or two and keep that lovely rhythm and tempo and let the extra club you’ve chosen do the work, the main reason for this is if you try and hit the ball hard into the wind all will happen is your ball will go higher which means the wind will stall the flight and you’ll see your ball come up short of the green more often…

Playing down wind may seem simple, but the only thing you need to take into account with these shots is if you find the wind very strong it can knock down your ball in flight, so on this basis i may suggest to you in again taking an extra club use a half/ three quarter swing and land the ball short of the green to allow it to run on thus being in more control of your flight…
